Common Questions

The most common side effects of a filler treatment are bruising and swelling. The majority of swelling occurs the first 72 hours and typically is resolved by 2-3 weeks. If you have the side effect of bruising, then bruising typically occurs within the first 72 hours and can take up to 3 weeks to resolve fully. Please note, most bruising can be easily covered by makeup.

The amount of downtime you may experience varies depending on how many factors such as; how much was used; how many areas were treated, and which area were treated (some areas take longer to heal than others). Some people like to be completely free of bruising and swelling before they go about their daily activities, but most people return to their daily activities the next day and some go back to work or see their friends the same day as their treatment.

You may experience some mild to moderate discomfort from the injections, but most people easily tolerate the filler procedure. Topical numbing is typically applied before the filler procedure and most fillers have numbing medication mixed within the hyaluronic acid as well. This adds an additional benefit. Our team provides multiple ways of eliminating any discomfort during filler treatments and we would be happy to discuss more fully with you once a treatment plan has been established.
